I took my car to a local SCCA autocross today. Had a GREAT time and accomplished everything I was hoping to for the first time out. No cone hits, no DNFs, no spin outs, improved my time on each run and I finished roughly in the middle of my D Stock class. I learned a heck of alot. It's amazing how hard you can push a stock BMW with ordinary street tires. The top finishers were running class legal street racing tires.

It was very interesting that my novice fastest time beat almost all of the big, noisy V8 Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds, etc. who have more experience than me. It goes to prove that bigger ISN'T necessarily better when it comes to anything besides drag racing!

One of the area dealers sponsored a Z4 driven by one of their techs. He was really impressive and the Z4 was just awesome. I think he had the fastest time of the day in all classes. I want one...

I think I'm hooked.....
