I have leatherette seats in my 325i and loved them until summer. For some odd reason the driver’s seat (sport bucket) is noticeably warmer than the passenger. I do live where it’s hot (80-90); however it’s so uncomfortable that I drive my other car during the summer months. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do? I’d rather not get seat covers but I think that may be my only option. Even then I’m not sure what kind of material I should get and the BMW service center I called wasn’t much help.

Where I lived when I had my 91 318is with leatherette the summers stayed at 100+. My seats never got any hotter than the leather ones did in my roadster. I would put a large beach towel (white) over them when I parked the car.

The problem occurs when I'm driving the car. I keep my car in the garage so the seats are cool when I get in then after 10-15 mintues in the heat it gets warm enough to make my back super hot and usually wet.
