How useful is the adjustable ride height in x5?

I was wondering how useful the adjustable ride height feature is. I would like to have it when I drive on dirt road. However, it will require sports package ($2500) which in turn requires premium package ($3900), both of which I can live without. I just wondering if anyone has experience of this feature when coming to the off-road ability of X5. Is it really worth going so much trouble just getting it?

More trouble than its worth. Dirt roads don't need extra ground clearance. If you need an off-roader, go get a Land Rover! You'll kick yourself for purchasing a $6400+ lame option.
