It has been branded by many as the spiritual successor to the original BMW M3 E30, due to its compact size and focus on providing driver pleasure, but the M2 Coupe is, in many respects, a different animal.

That much is obvious from the 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged straight-six engine, which delivers 370 PS (365hp) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) in overboost. It is available with a standard six-speed manual and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch, that help propel the car to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.5sec and 4.3sec, respectively.

Since last month, when it was officially launched, we know everything there is to know about it. Even so, this example in Alpine White color brandishes some camouflaged parts, which are in fact (supposed to) hide the M Performance pack upgrades.

These include slightly tweaked front aprons, updated side skirts towards the rear and a larger boot spoiler. The diffuser is modified too, probably to accommodate the M Performance exhaust system.

The cabin doesn?t seem to bring any extras as we can notice the same leather seats with blue stitching and the carbon fiber inserts as the one in the standard M2.

In the UK, the model starts from ?44,070 ($67,200), but no pricing details were announced for the US. so far. However, the car will cross the ocean next spring.
